"Belagam Bhimeswararao is a Telugu 

writer and poet.He was born in 1952

at Parvatipuram,Vizianagaram district,

Andhra Pradesh.His first children's song

Chiluka(parrot)was published in Subhodaya magazine in 1979.He acknowledges major influences of 

eminent writers and poets on him,like

M.V.V.Satyanarayana,Alaparti Venkata

Subbarao,Payala Satyanarayana and 

Reddi Raghavaiah.He was immensely

Contributed for the development of

Telugu literature and has about one 

thousand songs,stories,novels, biographies and essays to his credit.He

has twenty six books including 

Chetlostunnai Jagratta,Maa Inti Devatalu,Bhoo Lakshmi etc.He is the

recipient of several awards including

Manchipalli Satyavathi Smaraka Bala sahitya Puraskaram,Dr.N.Mangadevi Baala Sahitya Prasaram,Taddi's Elite Award, Angalakuduti Sundarachari Memorial Keerthi Puraskaram, Janaranjaka Kavi Prathibha Puraskaram 

And Gangisetti Chiranjeevi Bal Sahitya

Prasaram and Bhasha Bhushana

Puraskaram etc.among others.Thatha

Maata - Varaala Moota is a collection

Of twenty five stories intended to reach

out to children.The stories are diverse 

In nature and the subjects that are dealt

within the stories range from environmental protection to intrinsic

human vallues.The stories are written

In such a way that they inculcate in

children for logical faculty in addition to

qualities like compassion,mercy,sympathy, understanding of environment and 

character building.The author has

established a simple,lucid,direct touching writing style.The book is splendid not only in terms of thematic

vigour but also in texture.It appeals to

both both children and elders in equal

measure.As such Sahitya Akademy

is happy to confer its Bal Sahitya Prasad in Telugu on Belagam Bhimeswara Rao

for his Thata Maata - Vargala Moota.

కార్యదర్శి గారు పరిచయం చేస్తున్న సమయంలోనే సాహిత్య అకాడమీ ఉపాధ్యక్షులు

శ్రీ మాధవ్ కౌశిక్ గారు దగ్గరకు వచ్చారు.నేను నిలబడి నమస్కారం చేశాను.ఆయన మొదట  మెడలో పూలదండ వేసి తరువాత పూర్తి కాటన్ కండువా నా భుజాలపై వేసి సత్కరించారు.

కార్యదర్శి గారి పరిచయ ప్రసంగమయ్యాక సాహిత్య అకాడమీ అధ్యక్షులు శ్రీ చంద్రశేఖర్ కంబార్ గారు సాహిత్య అకాడమీ అని దేవనాగరి లిపిలో ఉన్న కాంస్య జ్ఞాపికను అందించారు. ఆ సమయంలో అమ్మానాన్నలు గుర్తుకొచ్చారు. మనసులోనే నమస్సులందజేశాను. అఅమ్మానాన్నలు ఇచ్చిన జన్మను సార్ధకత చేసుకోగలిగానన్న సంతృప్తి కలిగింది. సభకు, వేదిక మీద కూర్చున్న వారికి నమస్కరించి నా కుర్చీలో కూర్చున్నాను.నా తరువాత ఉర్దూ రచయిత మొహమ్మద్ ఖలీల్ ను పిలిచారు.ఆ రచయిత సత్కారమయ్యాక అకాడమీ ఉపాధ్యక్షులు శ్రీ మాధవ్ కౌశిక్ గారు ముగింపు

వచనాలు పలికారు. సభ జనగణమన జాతీయ

గీతంతో ముగిసింది. వేదిక నుంచి దిగగానే తెలుగు

టీవీ ఛానెల్స్ వారు చుట్టు ముట్టారు.ఎక్కడ నుంచి వచ్చారు?ఏ పుస్తకానికి వచ్చింది? భవిష్యత్ లో బాలసాహిత్యం ఎలా ఉండాలి?

ఇలాంటి ప్రశ్నలు వేశారు. వారికి సమాధానమిచ్చాక అకాడమీ వారు ఏర్పాటు

చేసిన వాహనం లో బస చేరుకున్నాం. మర్నాడు
